"Flat Ribbon" USB wire saves space!
West Coast Cables have developed a "Ribbon USB" cable capable of branching off to 8 separate USB devices.
Each "core" has 1 x 28AWG twisted pair (Green and White) and 2 x 24AWG wires (Red and Black) as well as mylar insulation and a spiral shield.
The cable was developed as a solution to space problems within trading desks. Two versions were developed; a 4 way "ribbon" and an 8 way "ribbon"
Because it is a ribbon, the wire sits neatly in position and does
not interfere with other cables in the trunking / system etc.
The 8 way ribbon wire is 40mm wide x 5mm thick.
